Gloricide is an “Unregistered Chemical Product” and a random combination of:
- 2,4-D Formula’s
- Metsulfuron methyl Formulas
- Wetting Agent Formulas
- Spray Dye Formulas
The Gloricide MSDS commissioned by Sunshine Coast Regional Council list the SCRC as the Official Supplier of the Product, see MSDS: http://www.atpenvironmental.com.au/?attachment_id=134 .
The MSDS further claims that GLORICIDE is a “NON HAZERDOUS SUBSTANCE” and a ”NON HAZERDOUS GOOD”, interesting that to manufacture the cocktail you have to mix Poisons and Toxins together.
Work Place Health and Safety Queensland claim that new synergistic products were created when GLORICIDE was lab tested including 2,4-D Methyl Esters and other poisonous compounds were found but continue to allow Queensland Workers to undertake illegal Chemical trials with inadequate PPE. Its not their job supposedly to check if its illegal!!!
GLORICIDE is a mixture of synthetic hormonal formulas that are selective in nature. That’s why its used because it kills some plant well but not all, it effects different hormones in different plants. Humans are susceptible to the same hormonal disruption. One of the component formulas 2,4-D is basically Synthetic Oestrogen, that’s why it works and that’s why its apparently the 3rd most popular agricultural chemical.
Metsulfuron methyl is a complete mystery, no one really knows/published what hormone it effects. It is another selective herbicide based on sulphur and has never been tested on humans since it was introduced in the 90′s.
A mixture of synthetic hormones is a nasty brew to be playing around with and is absolute madness to be using it in and around Aquatic Areas. The hundreds of thousands of dead Native Trees are testament to this fact.
